“Perpetual Doom and Gloom”

These are the words I heard after eating a frozen ice cream sandwich.

Prior to eating it I went through a regular stream of consciousness about how I probably shouldn’t be eating this junk food. And yet, I decided to eat it. Therefore, when I heard the words “perpetual doom and gloom” I wondered what it really meant.

I felt my body soul taken to the manufacturing plant of the person working the line of ice cream sandwiches being packaged to be sent out for our consumption. Someone who likely works many hours for minimum wages. A tiresome job doing the same thing over and over again. I imagined this was what the person was thinking as they watched over and over again the amount of plastic, product, whatever else being put into the food before it gets sent out by the masses.

As I came back into the office room, that I was eating the ice cream sandwich in, I couldn’t help but think about the many hundred, thousands, possibly millions whom are in a similar position as this person I was directly connected with. For there are many types of goods and services that are packaged at large quantities in large warehouses that are truly beyond my mind’s comprehension.

At the end of the day I know that the quality of the ice cream sandwich is not great… I could even taste something strange along the edge of the ice cream, something that is likely used to help the ice cream stay in a perfect position. Though, I think something that is even more important than the contents of the food that we are eating itself — are the energies that are often attached to the food.

The energies can be from the people and the places that the food comes from. And even larger than that, as plastic (and other harmful waste) continues to consume our lands and waters — every time a good is packaged, bought, and thrown back out into the Earth I believe that it is the Great Motherland poking inside of us to pay attention to the food we choose to eat.

You may think you are feeling bad about the type of food — if it has too much sugar or too many calories, etc, etc — and I think, I feel, and I know that Spirit is trying to get us to see the bigger picture.

Mass productions are a perpetual doom and gloom situation in many cases, at this point. It is at the root of many health (mental and physical) symptoms we are seeing across the board at this time.

I am curious to know if you have ever felt a similar feeling as you were consuming a food from the grocery store? What was your experience like? Tell us in the comments below.
